Joe Powers Owner/Funeral Director

Joe Powers is married to Karla and has 4 daughters. Originally from Pocahontas, Iowa - he graduated from Cincinnati Mortuary School in Ohio, then from Loras College in Duquque, Iowa and later from the International School of Theology in San Bernadino, Calif. He took over ownership of the Lindsay Funeral Homes on May 1, 1995. He loves people, and considers it a privlege to serve families. He also tries to celebrate life - daily, and to assist families as they celebrate the life of a loved one.

Brian Cramer Funeral Director

Brian Cramer is married to Sherri and has 2 daughters and one son. He is originally from Audubon. After graduation from high school Brian attended Westmar College. Later while working for Marriott Hotel in Des Moines he attended Des Moines Area Community College, graduating from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1995. Brian served families in the Stuart area until moving to Creston in June of 2004 when he joined the Powers Funeral Home staff.

Debbie Angelo Office Administrator

Debbie Angelo, a 1980 Creston graduate, has two children, Kayla (husband Chris) and Logan, two granddaughters and two grandsons. Debbie joined Powers Funeral Home as Office Mngr. in August of 2000. She enjoys personalizing services through designing color service folders and personal video tributes, in addition to assisting with all of the details of families wishes. Debbie's after-care assistance includes helping families with filing insurance claims and assisting with their monument needs. She loves working with people and has a heart for serving and helping families celebrate the life of their loved one. Debbie loves to travel to see her family and also enjoys spending time with friends. Debbie served as President of the Creston PTO group for many years; was actively involved with the Relay for Life committee for 10 years, and also served as a board member of the Bluegrass Optimist club in Union county.

Chasity Clayton Office Staff

Chasity is a 2020 graduate of Creston High School and received her Associates from SWCC in Creston. She is currently enrolled in the Mortuary Program though DMACC, with plans to pursue a career in funeral service after graduation. Chasity spent her SOS time at Powers Funeral Home while in high school, learning all the aspects of funeral service, and is expanding on her knowledge of preneed care and personalization, while helping families celebrate the life of their loved ones. She enjoys spending time with her family, her cats, and her friends in her spare time.

Lamona Bilderback Funeral Assistant

Lamona Bilderback, of Creston, has retired from 40 years serving in a local bank. She is married, has two grown children, and four grandchildren. Lamona serves in assisting with funerals, some follow-up care and with visitations. She has wonderful organizational skills.

Annette Rice Funeral Assistant

Annette has been with Powers Funeral Home since February 2015. She grew up in Creston and spent several years in Nebraska before moving back to Iowa. Her employment history includes working with the local AEA and then 28 years at Greater Regional Medical Center. Her and her husband Rick were very fortunate to have been able to travel the world a great deal over the past 30 years. She continues to serve on the Crestland Community Betterment Foundation, The Civil Service Commission and on the Family Selection Committee for Habitat for Humanity.

Joe is a retired Operations Officer for the BNSF Railroad. He joined the Powers Funeral Home staff in 2011 and assists with visitations, services and meeting the needs of the community in their time of need. Joe and his wife Gay Lynn enjoy raising quarter horses and going to horse shows when possible, and are founders of the Crest Baptist Cancer Support Ministry in Creston. Joe has a huge heart for serving others and you will always see him with a smile on his face with a story to share.
